Happy New Year: Handbook 2013

Happy New Year 2013

I received an awesome New Years greeting on my cell phone from a dear friend, Wajid Mahmood. Its called Handbook 2013.

I agree with most of what is advised:

Drink plenty of water

Eat breakfast like a king; Lunch like a prince; Dinner like a beggar

Live with 3 E’s: Energy, Enthusiasm, Empathy

Play more games

Read more books than you did in 2012

Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes every day

Sleep for 7 hours (I beg to disagree here!! 5 should be alright!)

Take a 10-30 minute walk daily. And smile when you walk!

Don’t over do. Keep your limits.

Dont take yourself seriously. No one else does!

Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip

Dream more while you are awake

Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need

Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind your partner their past mistakes. This could ruin your present happiness

Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Love everyone

Make peace with your past so it doesn’t spoil your present

No one is in charge of your happiness except YOU

Smile & laugh more

You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree

Call your family often

Each day give something good to others

Forgive everyone everything

Spend time with people over 70 & under 6

Try to make at least 3 people smile each day

What others think of you is none of your business

Do the right thing

God heals everything

However good or bad a situation is, it will change

No matter how you feel, Get Up, Dress Up & Show Up.

The best is yet to come

When waking up, thank God for it

You inner most is always happy. So, be happy.

Some of the above advices are by Regina Brett which I have posted earlier in this blog. You can read them here. Others, I am not aware of. If any of you know who wrote them, please let me know to give credit to the awesome person/s.

I am sure you were already doing most of the things mentioned above. If you have missed any, get on with it!! Life’s too short!

I wish for you a life blessed with happiness, love, health, peace, prosperity & contentment.

And may you dream big dreams & achieve them.

And may you become the person you aspire to.

Stay blessed. Stay happy.

PS: No, I won’t talk about new years resolutions!!!

  • Thank you much for sharing Handbook 2013 on your blogs and must appreciate your interpersonal motivational theory…..its my pleasure Nuru Bhai to being connected with peoples like you…..I am also agree with Tayyiba Iram’s comments below that you give credit people around you with Honesty and to be made them a encouraged individual….

    • Thanks a lot for appreciating, Wajid.
I see you are now on the path to becoming a mentor and have lots of people asking for your advice.
Keep up the great work and do keep sharing great things, like you always do.
      Love and prayers for everyone.

  • That is Brilliant… and A very Little thing which I always Appreciate in You is Your confidence and honesty with which you even give credits to others. Like you have given in this blog to your friend who sent you sms, You gave credit to the source of the picture you used, Whenever you write You give credit even if its unknown.

Most of the time most of us don’t care about these little things, which shows our true self. Stay blessed as I say Always in all ways.

    • Thanks for the lovely comment.

Yes, some of us may not think about giving credit, especially when its something small. Because, it wouldn’t matter. But, in the end everything matters.

I usually dont think in terms of something big or small, its just that credit needs to be given where it is due.

And then, we all know this: What you give, comes back to you, isn’t it?

Thanks once again, Tayyiba, you are an angel.

      Keep inspiring.

      Keep motivating…

      Keep making a difference.
